Sunshine Coast Council News – May 2020

In an effort to support businesses during the COVID-19 restrictions, council has resolved to waive application fees for weddings, temporary entertainment events and commercial use permits. Events and weddings that are cancelled are eligible for a refund of the application fee.

Council would like to inform event and wedding organisers that they are required to monitor the latest health advice from the Australian Government Department of Health when making decisions to cancel, postpone or proceed with the event or wedding.

Council is currently allowing permit holders to transfer weddings and events to another date should they wish and be able to. We understand that this may not be possible for everyone, however, should you wish to enact this transfer please notify landpermits@sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au as soon as possible.
